I was approached by Becci of Surge events & promotions to be apart of her "black" rocker fashion show, showcasing only Diva 911 and all our trendiest of apparel! I quickly squealed and shouted with delight! I started trying to pull outfits together to fit this theme, and much to my dismay, I found everything rocker "ish" to make the models outfits coordinate. Diva 911 collaborated with so many unqiue and special people and business owners, I just can't wait to be part of another event! Thank you to everyone who was involved, and for making this Diva 911's FIRST with many more to come successful fashion shows! Diva 911 was given a terrific opportunity to be in one of Seattle's top magazine, the Dlist I quickly gathered my signature items and found 3 amazing, beautiful ladies to help me out with a photoshoot preformed by none other then Miss Kaylee Eylander of Eylander Photography Kaylee just returned from a 3 day photography convention in Sunny Las Vegas so I knew she had many new tricks up her sleeve! We scouted some local areas in Lake Stevens and came across Lake Stevens self storage, the perfect spot with thee perfect top notch lighting! These girls were so lively and full of enthusiasm I couldn't get over how perfect they looked in the Diva 911 signature pieces! Red Velvet Cupcakes for V-day!

Red Velvet Cuppies for Valentine's Day. Legend has it, red velvet cake was a signature dessert at the Waldorf Asoria Hotel in New York City during the 1920s. Try this delish dessert for Valentines Day.

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 oz red food coloring
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoons vinegar
Preparation:

Cream shortening; beat in sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition. Make paste of cocoa and food coloring; add to creamed mixture. Add salt, flour and vanilla alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition. Sprinkle soda over vinegar; pour vinegar over batter. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Bake in 3 8-inch pans or 2 9-inch pans for 30 minutes at 350°.

Slather tops with Vanilla Buttercream frosting & pink/red sprinkles or strawberries.

Early Sunday morning all of Western Washington was hit with the 2nd brutal attack and ambush against our Seattle and Washington Police officer's! 5 Police officer's dead and gone in just shy of a month apart! Although both cowards who committed these crimes was and will be put to justice, the pain never goes away! We at Diva 911 would absolutely love to do something for the 4 fallen officer's of the Lakewood Police Department, although bringing them back is not an option, we would love to donate 20% of our Total Sales for the day of December 8th(the Memorial Day) to the Memorial Fund! I would like to encourage you to spread the word, tell all your family and friends to come do some holiday shopping at Diva & Dude 911. At the end of the day I will personally write a check to the Lakewood Memorial Fund. I want to thank all of our men and women in uniform! Thank you is just a small word that describes how much we all appreciate you putting your life on the line day in and day out! In October Diva 911 celebrated Breast Cancer with a little par~tay! While we love everything pink anyways, we thought it'd be fun to do a small benefit with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Koman foundation! This will be one night I will never forget.. 30+ women attended while our friend Trenia from the Breast Center gave a short and brief informative class on how to check our breasts. Also, our friend Wendy designing Henna art on everyone who wanted a little pink symbol. All ladies were given a PINKalicious swag bag along with a pink hair extension. Our newest friend Andrea who is just getting her photography business off the ground was gracious enough to take these beautiful images of all these wonderful women! YAY pink..go..fight..and PINK will win..Together there is a cure!

Without making this entry into a novel, I just want to say it has been quite the trying year! So many changes and additions, all for the good! As some of you may know the boutique began this journey as Sweet Peas Boutique with only about 500 square feet of room to work with. During that time and up to now we've changed our name and brand platform, doubled the square footage. For our 1 YEAR Birthday Bash we had a smashing event at Fuller O'Rileys'! With more than 100 people in attendance, this is a bash I will never forget! Thanks to all who rocked the night with us and were able to grab a swag bag. Lots of fall new goodies have hit the shop in the past week! Stepping into fall with a bang! About a month ago, Diva 911 took a huge step forward after much consulting with you gals, our diva fans. We asked many of you what you thought about a "used denim section" within our boutique along with our other popular new jeans and our much raved about T-shirt lines including Katy Did, Vocal and our signature wing back and logo shirts! We received ooodles of positive feedback and lots of "2cents". Rushing the progress along, we received over 100 pairs of jeans from all of you diva girls. Thank you all who rummaged through your closests, asked your friends and even purged your already current jeans at home, to get our gently used jeans selection underway. We filled our floor with several designer jeans in all different sizes and brands. We hope you get the opportunity to shimmy over to the shop soon to get your hands on these awesome priced digs. Since our latest addition to our already fabulous boutique we've had ooodles of comments left and right from many Divas raving about our newest expansion at the boutique! We get it...The economy stinks, business' taking the plunge and leasing signs up all over Snohomish County...Thus, we stepped back and took a new look on our approach to the business world. Realistically, do you you really have $200 for a brand new pair of jeans? . What may of costed you $200 for a pair of True Religions or Seven Jeans, would cost you about $50 bucks at Diva 911. Isn't that something to smile about? Doesn't take a genius to do the math here. We are looking out for all the bargainistas out there, and delivering what you've asked for, an inexpensive pleasureable shopping experience!

A couple of girls and I headed downtown Seattle bright and early this morning with coffee in hand to do our part in the "Race for the Cure" 5K. This event brought more then 2 MILLION dollars in! Thousands of Men and Women............all wearing pink (yes, even the men wore the color proudly) as we all walked the Susan G. Koman 5K Race for the Cure! I look forward to walk every year, & the Susan G. Koman 3-day! What an awesome experience and a blessed day, a way to give back with a portion of my time! Saving the boobies!

The D9 girls have so much faith in MishMash that we know her line will take off with out a glitch! April 19th through the 21st the boutique will be closed. The cutest little family came into the shop and took Valentine pictures with Kaylee Eylander Studios! I could hear all sorts of giggles and excitement, oh how I wish I could of been a fly on that wall to see all the smiles and laughter coming from these kids! We are thrilled that this is the family's 2nd photoshoot with Eylander Photography! Something for your Valentine

I've been on a rampage looking for the perfect Valentine treat to make my hubby this Valentines Day. I fell in love with the history of Red Velvet Cake and how it's a "southern" recipe. Since my husband is from LA I figured this would be just the perfect dessert! I can not wait to devour into this scrumptious looking Red Velvet Cupcake this Valentines Day! May you, and your loved ones have a blessed and joyful Valentine Day.

Red Velvet Cupcakes
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour*1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon salt2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder2 oz. red food coloring (two bottles)1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened1 1/2 cups sugar2 eggs, at room temperature1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature1 teaspoon white vinegar1 teaspoon baking soda

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two 12-cup muffin tins with cupcake papers.
2. Sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl; set aside. In a small bowl, mix food coloring and cocoa powder to form a thin paste without lumps; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then beat in vanilla and the red cocoa paste, scraping down the bowl with a spatula as you go. Add one third of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beat well, then beat in half of the buttermilk. Beat in another third of flour mixture, then second half of buttermilk. End with the last third of the flour mixture, beat until well combined, making sure to scrape down the bowl with a spatula.
4. In a small bowl, mix vinegar and baking soda. Yes, it will fizz! Add vinegar mixture to the cake batter and stir well to combine. Using an ice cream scoop, fill cupcake cups with cake batter (they should be 2/3 - 3/4 full). You may not fill all the cups, I ended up with 20 cupcakes. Place muffin tins on the middle rack of a preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for approximately 20-22 minutes, rotating pans halfway through. Cupcakes are done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Check early and don’t overbake!
5. Cool the cupcakes in their tins on a wire rack for 10 minutes then remove and allow to cool completely before frosting. Frost cupcakes with cream cheese icing (recipe below) and decorate with red sprinkles if desired. The cupcakes above were decorated using the Wilton Cupcake Decorating Kit and Valentine’s Sprinkles. They can usually be found at craft stores like Michaels or Joann.
6. Enjoy the cupcakes with those you love!

Cream Cheese Frosting
16 oz. cream cheese (2 packages), softened1/2 cup unsalted butter (one stick), softened1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, siftedpinch of salt
With an electric mixer, blend together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Turn mixer to low speed and blend in powdered sugar, salt and vanilla extract. Turn mixer on high and beat until light and fluffy. Use immediately or refrigerate, covered, until ready to use. If refrigerated, the frosting will need to be brought to room temperature before using (after frosting softens up, beat with mixer until smooth).

Oh my sweet goodness! Have you ever had a sweet tooth that you just had to get to your kitchen and bake up something scrumpcious? Come on, I know we all have! Well I have personally had a sweet tooth for a week! I found this recipe and decided to whip it up. The hardest part was having it sit in the fridge and wait for the cooling period, I think I opened the fridge at least 10 times. Finally I was able to break out a fork and dig in! And ooooh la la it was pure heaven! The next time you are craving something fabulous, I would highly suggest this recipe! Is your mouth watering yet?

INGREDIENTS
1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix (just a hint the richer the brownie mix the richer the dessert will turn out)
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 package of Toffee chips (you can find this in the baking section)
1 bottle of Caramel Sundae Topping
DIRECTIONS
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely.(Brownies can cool while you prepare the pudding. Crumble with a spoon.
In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, (I used chocolate soy milk to make the pudding it was great). Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain( Adding the additional whipped topping here is optional, you can add condensed milk and water to give it the right consistency. I skipped this entire step and just used the instant pudding alone).
In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies,half the toffee bits, a few swirls of the sundae topping, half of the pudding mixture and half of the 12 ounce container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Shave chocolate onto top layer for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

On January 8th we had our first event with our new Photographer, Kaylee Eylander. It was truely a night of fun, friendship, laughter, and beautiful HOTTIES! After each session every lady came out ecstatic and overjoyed on how well the photoshoot went! Friends that came for support were even asking to do it after they saw how fun it was! We then opened up two more dates for the same type of event and they are already booked! YAY Kaylee!
